Quick Tip: If you’re familiar with RateMyProfessors.com, you probably use it all the time to pick out the best (or easiest) professor for your course. Did you know it’s still useful even after the semester has started?

If you read my The Ultimate Guide to Cramming for an Exam, you know that different professors write their tests in different ways. Many commenters on RateMyProfessors will give a heads up on what you will need to study in order to ace your prof’s tests. They may say, “Study the notes!” or, “It’s all multiple choice from the book.”

You may also find tips on what would be a waste of time. For one of my professors this semester, every comment contained something to the effect of, “Don’t even bother taking notes on the lectures. She goes off topic and doesn’t test you over them.” Heh, that’s fine with me.
